The impacts of Hurricane Melissa are immeasurable. We are so grateful for our safety and the health of our animals. While we have stabilized our Team, barn and animals, our business remains closed until Half Moon Hotel can re-open mid-2026.

Our Story
For nearly 40 years, the Half Moon Equestrian Centre, nestled within the luxurious Half Moon Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, has been a haven for horse enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Our commitment to exceptional animal care and personalized guest experiences ensures that every visit is both safe and exhilarating. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, we offer a range of equestrian activities, from riding and jumping lessons to unique beach rides, all set against the backdrop of Jamaica’s stunning landscapes.

Our team is a small group of experienced Guides. Their top priority is the welfare of our Horses and next the fun and safe experience of our Guests!
A promise to our animals
At the heart of the Half Moon Equestrian Centre is a profound commitment to animal welfare. Under the leadership of Director Trina deLisser, an international show jumper and animal welfare activist, we have established a comprehensive rescue program dedicated to rehabilitating horses from adverse environments. Over the years, this initiative has expanded to include dogs, cats, donkeys, goats, and birds providing them with a sanctuary where they receive exceptional care and a renewed purpose. Our rescued animals not only thrive in their new environment but also play a pivotal role in our programs, offering guests authentic and heartfelt interactions.
